Topic:           Global Outreach Ministry Table: Sending Casas’ Short Term Global Workers

Objective:     To celebrate what everyday Casas people’s gifts and prayers are accomplishing and to thank them. (The ministry is made possible by regular, humble people of our church giving to global outreach and hoping that something good is coming of it. Having the booth there encourages them as they see where their funds went and the gratitude of the short-term goers and the stories they have to tell.)

The secondary purpose is to provide information for Casas members so they will be aware of:

§         How to support short-term teams

§         How to join a future short-term trip

Plan:             Present the ministry table as a modified street fair booth with decorations, brochures/flyers/prayer reminder cards, and food/objects to give-away.

Sunday Schedule for manning ministry table:

8:30                 Set up table in plaza; obtain supplies from Stacy Brice’s office per arrangement

8:55-9:20         First shift: 2-3 persons needed per shift; secure supplies before leaving table & attend the worship service or BF.

10:25-10:50     Second shift; secure supplies as above shift

11:55-12:20     Third shift; break down booth, putting things into Ministry table totes.

12:20               Return supplies to Stacy’s office or GO shed per arrangement

Ø      Check with Stacy Brice about reserving a table at least 2 weeks in advance.

Ø      Arrange pick up of basic supplies in advance (in Ministry Table tote in GO shed).

Ø       Short term trip leaders who sign up to sponsor the table will be responsible to decorate and find helpers to man the table.  (See details below about decorating.)

Ø      Supplies:  few pens, large clips, package tape for creating the display

Ø      Table cloth:  Use the G.O. table banner (purple cloths and white banner)

Ø       GO & EYW brochures (inside Ministry Table tote)

Ø      Prayer cards &/or info sheets per short term trip being highlighted: team leaders should prepare these in advance.  Check with Stacy Brice if you need help creating a card.  Use large clips to bundle these for placement on the table.

Ø      Clip board with Interest list (prayer, financial, trip members)

Ø       Place the two tri-fold screens behind the plaza/ministry table; the screens are needed to define the table/”booth”.  (Tri-fold screens, black metal frames with canvas squares, are stored in GO shed.)

Ø      Add background decorations: e.g. Asian, European, &/or Middle Eastern scene painted on fabric and draped over a tri-fold screen (clip in place with large clips) or 8”x10” photo display.

Ø      Some backdrops already made are in the GO shed; backdrops are stored in Street Fair totes.

Ø      Large clips for attaching backdrops to screens are in the “Ministry Table” tote in the GO shed.

Ø      If there are no decorations to place on the tri-fold screens, use them but leave them blank.

Ø      China ideas:  Chinese costumes, Chinese Bible, paper lanterns, artifacts, bamboo banners, short term trip scrapbook, IMB Chinese table/flip calendar, Asian fans, scroll, etc.

Ø       Europe ideas: Kosovar Bible, artifacts (tea pot, doilies, etc.), basket with flowers, (1/28/05 could not find the tea pot in the GO shed!)

Ø       Middle East ideas: M.E. books & Bible, costumes to hang on screen, artifacts (Costume box in GO shed)

Ø      Lightning Trip ideas:  use display boards in place of the tri-fold screens.

v      Check with Scott before buying if you need reimbursement for these.

NOTE 1/30/05: The backdrops were left attached to the tri-fold screens, the props & extra clips were all placed in a large, green, storage tote, and the literature was placed in the large, clear, EYW folder, storage tote so they may easily be taken the next time to the ministry tables.  All these are in the GO shed.
