Duties of an Envoy

A Casas Envoy is a person who does all of the above as well as:

·        Leads recurring trips to the people group with new Casas people each time

·        Champions all Casas outreach to a specific people group, country or region on an ongoing basis by initiating a prayer group or Sending Team and having a table in the plaza and at the Street Fair

·        Works with the Global Outreach Pastor to develop a strategic plan for recurring short-term work so that it supports long-term partners

For those rare situations when an applicant will be in country without the Envoy:

·        Assists applicants with the development and initial approval of a trip budget and submits it to the staff member who oversees short-term ministry.

·        Ensures that short-term missionaries follow the required accounting procedures

·        Assists applicants with the development and initial approval of a trip work plan

·        Ensures that short-term missionaries submit the required work plan reports and then submits those reports to the Global Teams Director

Steps to Becoming an Envoy

1.       The potential Envoy first becomes a Trip Leader:

2.       The potential Envoy meets with the Global Outreach team to discuss becoming an Envoy. If both parties agree, the individual becomes an Envoy.

3.       The potential Envoy attends Envoy Training.

4.       The Envoy begins to have prayer/awareness meetings inviting all who might potentially become interested in the people group to attend.

5.       The Envoy works with the Global Outreach Pastor to find ways Casas can be a part of the ongoing strategy of the IMB long-term global worker.

6.       The Envoy begins to lead multiple trips to the targeted people group, with new Casas people each time.

7.       The Envoy will meet with GO personnel annually to review continued appropriateness of Envoy assignment.

8.       Being an Envoy is an annually renewable role. It expires, is reviewed, and may be renewed each fall by mutual consent of the Envoy and the Global Outreach staff.
