Geographic layout:  The fair has been mapped out by world regions.  Each region will be decorated by a team with accent backdrops, plants, walls, etc. to resemble features found in these geographic locations.  Below are the designated areas.

  • City: Ministries supported by our Casas Global Outreach Pledges, reaching Tucson subcultures.
  • Asia: Ministries supported by our Casas Global Outreach Pledges, serving the least-reached Buddhist, Hindu, and Chinese peoples from Asia.
  • Tribal – Ministries supported by our Casas Global Outreach Pledges, serving indigenous peoples from Latin America, North America, southern Africa, and Asia.
  • Mediterranean – Ministries supported by our Casas Global Outreach Pledges reaching Muslims.

Information booth will be located in The City area, near the tall building backdrop.

International Market:  Next to the Food Court, the International Market will host the Gift Shoppes.   Here books, artifacts, and beverages will be sold; your water coupons are valid here ONLY.  The Casas Food Court is the main food area, but you will also find a few snack food booths around the campus, where you must use cash.

How to design an interactive display:

Below are ideas to consider incorporating into your booth in order to make it personal and encourage people to come see your “mission field.”

Plan:

  • What is my ministry?
  • How can I creatively encourage new friends to experience my ministry?
  • How can I share stories of what God has done in my mission area?
  • How can I make my booth a simulation of my missionary’s or my global outreach work?

Celebrate:

  • Use cultural art, artifacts, decorations and costumes
  • Create a cultural event or holiday theme

Integrate some of our five senses:

  • Hear – cultural music, toys/games being played
  • See – artifacts, tapestries, maps, wall hangings, a tent, cultural money, artwork, tea pot & cups, pictures in frames (family style, 8”x10” or larger), etc.
  • Smell – incense, cultural food
  • Taste – food samples/treats &/or drinks peculiar to your mission area
  • Touch – gifts/handouts: CD, magnets, flyers; cultural coins, food, rocks, etc.; chairs/couches/bean bags/pillows to sit upon; cultural toys/games to play

Generate action:

  • Teach a few words in the language of the culture for which you serve, e.g. hello, etc.
  • Have a coffee shop conversation; build a relationship playing a game or sharing a story about one of the props you have displayed
  • Act out a drama or cultural story
  • Play music, games, etc.
  • Build a structure; run your clinic

Add a table:

  • Place tables behind you or to the side so that your “room” is open and inviting to welcome guests inside to visit with you
  • Use it as a simulation of your ministry home, cultural café, mission site, etc.
  • Include a sign up sheet for ministry interest
  • Keep it simple, uncluttered, guest friendly
