Request for Project Proposal for Long-Term Mlnistry Project

Casas would like to invite you or your team to write a brief proposal for funding a specific project, ranging from $2,000 to $100,000. The funds available come from the Casas Building Fund, which sets aside a tithe for cross-cultural projects. This fund is used mainly for building projects overseas. Non-building endeavors are considered only if they are strategic start-up projects which will have a long-life or if they are items of lasting value which can affect multitudes for years to come - like buildings can. Projects aimed at monthly support, benevolence, conferences or events, vehicle repair, or legal or medical expenses will not be selected.

Besides the project having a long useful life, other criteria that Casas will use to approve a proposal are the degrees to which the project (a) helps churches be planted among least-reached people groups; (b) produces obvious, measurable results; (c) avoids increasing dependency on outside help; (d) draws in more involvement by Casas people in a natural way, (e) is part of and helps accomplish an overall Strategy or Mlnistry Plan which fits Casas’ outreach values.

Since this opportunity is being offered to many key partners, not all of the proposals will be funded. Casas funding for projects that are selected may need to be spread over a three-year period.

Selected proposals will answer each of the questions below clearly and concisely, using no more than 200-300 words total (half the number of words used in this form). Optional background information, beyond our proposal criteria, may be included as a separate document along with the answers to these questions.

1. What is the project goal?

2. How much funding is needed?

3. How many years will the actual items purchased with these funds last?

4. What impact is produced proportionate to investment?

5. How will results be measured? (e.g. statistics, attendance, etc.)

6. What people group(s) does the project intend to serve?

7. How does the project help church planting among least-reached people groups?

8. What local contribution will be made for this project?

9. In what ways might our gift increase or decrease dependence on outside help?

10. What participation might Casas have in this project (i.e., through short-term teams).

11. What, if any, vehicle costs, vehicle repair and maintenance expenses, legal costs, medical expenses, monthly support, or conference/event costs are included?

12. How will this project help accomplish your Strategy or Mlnistry Plan?

13. Please forward a copy of your (or your team’s) Strategy or Mlnistry Plan.

Proposals should be submitted, via e-mail or standard mail to the address below, by January 31, 2005. The Outreach Leadership Team will notify you of its decision by June 30, 2005.
